In Laudun, on the right bank of the Rhône, at the Southern side of the " Camp of César ", the vineyard of the Château de Bord extends out onto the terraces. Its soil of argilo-limestones, a paradise for mineralogists, conceals in quantity, fossils of oysters and seashells.

The vines are dominated by the ruins of the Château de Bord, a seigniorial whose long history can be traced back to the 11th century. Property of the bishops of Uzés, then the Count de Toulouse, it will have changed hands on several occasions before being abandoned, then reduced to ruin during the Revolution. Stone after stone, the walls of the Castle were rebuilt. With an infinite patience, its owners try to restore to the Castle, if not its former grandeur, at least its dignity, by ridding it of the undergrowth which surrounded it during the centuries.

From the top of the hill, one discovers the vineyard. Sixteen hectares planted in Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault, one collects here a wine whose color of ruby announces a bouquet from fruit cores, supported by hints of spices, with a good structure on the palate. It is characterized by well melted tanins and a great elegance.
The Château de Bord, to be tasted at a temperature of 16°C approximately, will accompany red meats, roasts and cheeses
